The London Underground Worksite Safety Induction (LU-WSI) is a prerequisite for anyone needing access to LU worksites. The course provides a comprehensive understanding of how to work safely and efficiently in one of the UK’s most complex transport networks.
You’ll learn how to:
- Follow health and safety procedures on the Underground network
- Manage fatigue and personal readiness for safety-critical work
- Understand site layouts, locations, and access controls
- Recognise and respect roles and responsibilities within LU environments
- Follow procedures for signing in and out of worksites
- Identify and control common hazards, including fire prevention and asbestos management
- Operate safely around lifts, escalators, and moving walkways
- Apply safe systems of work for working at height and lifting equipment
- Establish and maintain exclusion zones for protection and safety
